Phyllis Weldon finds beauty to express in the rhythmic patterns of life, the simplicity of nature, and sophistication of world travel. Phyllis’ work focuses equally on Photography and Painting. Her art work demonstrates a proficiency in many media and a comfort with a broad range of subject matter. Phyllis’ portfolio ranges from Oil, Acrylic, and Watercolor Paintings to Pen and Ink and Pencil drawings to Fine Art Photography and Digital Photography. Phyllis’ paintings are varied in style, possessing a uniquely expressive brush stroke. Her art is comprised of abstracted landscapes, representational compositions from random repeating patterns found in nature, seascapes, figurative paintings from life, and geometric patterns. Music, dance, writing, nature and travel are Phyllis’s source of inspiration as she searches for beauty, color, adventure and imagination in all that surrounds her. Her work may be found in private collections throughout the East Coast. Commissioned works of art include landscapes, seascapes, portraits, stain glass windows, murals, photography and pen and ink drawings. Phyllis graduated with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia, where she studied Painting, and Photography. She continues her art education today thru periodic artist workshops as a she is committed to continual creative growth. Over the years, she has been presented several awards and has participated in numerous juried shows in throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Her works may be found in local restaurants and at the Visual Art Exchange.Phyllis is currently a systems and regulatory consultant to Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Biotech companies worldwide. She has published several papers, and holds a patent for an Interactive Voice Response System used in clinical research. Phyllis is a frequent speaker on systems compliance, software quality, and computer system lifecycle methodologies. Her 20 + year career in computer systems started with a degree from Graduate School of Business in Information System from VCU. Her professional career provided her an opportunity to see the world. Expanded horizons continue to inspire her artistic creations.
